Yes issue #102 is next but that question is what many are asking after seeing the covers of The Walking Dead issues #103 and #104. Issue #103 has a cover with Rick on his knees and Negan has Lucille (his bat, for those that don’t know) up in the air and ready to bash Rick’s head in just like he did with Glenn. Also, the description for the issue makes it sound like Rick is going to die, doesn’t it?

It is a new beginning for THE WALKING DEAD. Rick Grimes is no longer in charge, and nothing will ever be the same again. It’s such a perfect jumping on point, it could easily have been a new first issue – but instead, the world’s best selling creator-owned comic just keeps moving forward, with #103 and counting!

So if Rick isn’t in charge anymore, who is? Jesus? Negan? “It could easily have been a new first issue?” What? This sounds like there will be a new main character in the comics that isn’t named Rick.

Issue #104 has a cover with Carl holding a machine gun, looking like he’s ready to lead or ready to go to war. Of course we all know that The Walking Dead covers don’t always show what’s going to happen in the actual issue. And Kirkman likes to troll so it’s hard to tell what’s going to happen in these next few issues.
