Issue #18 begins with Lori checking on Carl to make sure he is ok after everything. Lori explains to Carl why Rick beat up Thomas so badly. Rick and Lori talk and apologize to each other. Rick wants Lori to see his side of things. Lori says that she can’t think straight at times and is stressed out, maybe because of the pregnancy. Rick makes sure that Carl understands that Thomas is a bad guy and that they’re going to have to kill him so he doesn’t kill anyone else.

Dale is patching up Andrea in their cell and then he helps Rick with his busted up hand. Afterwards, Rick lets Dexter out of the locked cell and they talk a little, with tension in the air. Back in Hershel’s cell, Hershel slaps Billy a few times after Billy said he blamed Hershel for the two deaths. Hershel says to not talk back again to him.

Dale and Andrea talk to each other about possibly leaving on their own at some point. Tyreese and Glenn put Thomas in a cell. Glenn goes to check on Maggie and she tells him that she thinks she isn’t going to love him anymore because what’s the point if he’s going to die like everyone else. Patricia goes to the cell where Thomas is being held and helps him out, saying that he’s crazy, not evil, and that he needs help. Thomas then attacks Patricia and starts choking her. Patricia is able to get away from him as Tyreese comes and points a gun at Thomas. Two shots are fired into Thomas’ mid-section from behind, it’s Maggie. Maggie then shoots Thomas four more times in the head and says that she feels a little better now.

The group throw Thomas’s body out to the zombies outside of the fence. Hershel watches as the zombies tear apart at Thomas’s body. Rick asks Lori where Patricia is because he wants to talk to her, but Lori doesn’t know either. Dexter says that Patricia is with them, as he and Andrew have guns. Dexter points his shotgun at Rick’s head and says that they were there first and Rick’s group has worn out their welcome real quick. Dexter says, “Get the fuck out of my house.”
