Issue #10 starts with Tyreese telling Rick to stop and that Carl is still alive. Rick doesn’t know what to do. The guy that shot Carl says that the farm he lives on, the guy who owns it may know what to do as he patched up his son from a gunshot wound before. Rick tells Tyreese to go back to the RV and drive to the farm and to tell Lori there’s nothing to worry about. Rick carries Carl, following the man to the farm.
Tyreese gets back to the RV and tells everyone what happened. The man and Rick get to the farm and the farm’s owner starts treating Carl right away. Tyreese and the others pull up in the RV at the farm. Lori jumps into Rick’s arms asking what are they going to do. The man who was treating Carl comes out and says that he stopped the bleeding and he pulled the bullet out. He thinks Carl will be ok but they’ll have to wait and see. He tells Rick that his name is Hershel Greene. Hershel introduces himself and his family to Rick’s group and says that they can stay there for the time being while Carl gets better. Hershel introduces his oldest daughter Lacey, his son Arnold, his daughter Maggie, his youngest son Billy, and Rachel and Susie. Hershel also introduces Otis, the man who shot Carl, and Patricia, Otis’ girlfriend, they’re neighbors staying with them.
Lacey shows the group around the farm while Rick and Lori stay with Carl. Tyreese and Otis talk and Otis mentions that he and Patricia came from Wiltshire Estates and barely made it out of there. Tyreese tells Otis that Atlanta is worse off. Andrea tries to talk to Allen, telling him that his kids need him and Allen snaps back at her saying where does she get off about telling him about his grieving process. Andrea and Allen argue a little more before Andrea walks away.
Carl wakes up and wants to make sure that no one took his hat. Tyreese brings Carl his hat. Carol and Sophia come to see Carl while Rick and Lori go to get some food. Tyreese and Carol step out so Sophia and Carl can talk. Sophia gives Carl a kiss on his cheek. Carl responds with “ewww gross.” Outside, Dale talks with Lori, telling her that he just wants her to listen and he doesn’t want to argue. Dale says that Rick is the backbone of this group and Rick doesn’t show when he’s scared and they need him like that. Dale also says that he doesn’t know what she did with Shane but if the baby is Shane’s, for her to take that to her grave, as it will kill Rick and make him crack.
The two groups have a nice dinner together. Maggie sees Glenn staring at Carol during dinner. After dinner, Maggie talks to Glenn about why he was staring at her. Glenn says that he just doesn’t want to end up alone as everyone seems to be pairing up. Maggie just comes out and says that she’ll have sex with him if he wants and Glenn agrees to it. Tyreese has a talk with Julie and Chris and tells them to keep their hands off each other as he doesn’t want Julie getting pregnant.
Rick and Hershel talk. Rick asks about them staying in the barn but Hershel says no because that’s where they keep their dead ones.
