SPOILERS ahead! Below I’ve put together the more important events that happened in The Walking Dead season 7 episode 8 “Hearts Still Beating” but you can read the full episode recap and watch the “Inside the Episode” video here.

In episode 708, Daryl escapes the Saviors compound with the help of someone (possibly Dwight or Sherry?); Rick and Aaron find some supplies at the houseboat and someone is watching them (at the end of the episode, that same person is seen outside Alexandria looking with binoculars); Michonne kills the female Savior she took hostage, and realizes that she can’t take out Negan and the Saviors alone, but with Rick and the others they can try; Richard wants Carol and Morgan to encourage Ezekiel to attack the Saviors but they both don’t want to; Spencer kisses up to Negan, trying to get Negan to give him leadership of Alexandria; Negan kills Spencer, Rosita shoots at Negan but hits Lucille, Arat kills Olivia; the Saviors take Eugene as he admits to creating the bullet for Rosita; Rick and others go to the Hilltop, they reunite with Maggie, Sasha, Enid, Daryl and Jesus.
