Rick, Carl and Michonne bond and Morgan reappears but has changed

Sunday’s episode 12 “Clear” was maybe the best episode since season 1 and I have to think that actor Lennie James, who played Morgan, was one of the reasons this episode was great as he did a terrific job with his character. The whole episode felt like some of the episodes from season 1 and it was good to see. Read and watch the summary of episode 12 “Clear” here. Preview videos of episode 13 are down below.

Episode 12 spends the whole time away from the prison with Rick, Carl and Michonne as they go to King County to check out Rick’s old police station to get more guns and ammo but they find it empty. They then find a part of the city with traps for the walkers. A man starts shooting at them and eventually they find out that that man is Morgan, after Carl shoots him (Morgan was wearing protection though so he wasn’t shot). Carl and Michonne go on a run for a crib while Rick waits for Morgan to wake up. Morgan eventually wakes up and stabs Rick as he’s gone a little crazy. Rick is able to restrain Morgan and they talk and Morgan finally remember who Rick is. Morgan doesn’t want to go with Rick and wants to be alone. Michonne and Carl bond as we finally get to hear Michonne talk more than usual, as she helps get a Grimes family picture from a cafe for Carl. Morgan lets them take whatever guns and ammo they want as he continues to do what he does as Rick, Carl and Michonne drive off.

In the episode Morgan talked a lot about “clearing” and here’s the meaning behind it:

Morgan talked about “clearing” a couple of times – and episode was titled “Clear.” What does that mean?
It means a lot of things. To a certain extent it’s the ravings of a lunatic but it’s also about him trying to clear out his life and clear out any entanglements around him. He’s living by himself so he’s trying to have a clear head. It’s basically about him getting rid of his wife and getting rid of his son and the only way for him to survive is to clear the area around him.

Lennie James on if Morgan will be back…

I have no idea. If it is two and a half years, then one thing is for sure and that is that The Walking Dead is an even more successful show than it is at this moment in time. I love working with Andy and have enjoyed my time in Atlanta on The Walking Dead so whenever they will or won’t want me again and if I can make myself available to them I will make myself available to them. I enjoy playing this guy. I enjoy my time down there. But the answer to that question – as before – was never in my hands.

In the first video, we see Rick and the Governor are meeting face-to-face with Andrea there; it sounds like the Governor says he’s only there for one thing, Rick’s son, so the Governor wants an eye for an eye (so to speak, as he lost his daughter and may want to kill Carl) surrender; we also see two people fighting inside the prison, could this be Glenn and Merle fighting when Rick, Daryl and Hershel are not there? It looks to be another action packed episode.
