Issue #12 starts with Lori having morning sickness and Hershel finds Glenn in Maggie’s bed. Hershel yells at Maggie but Maggie tells her dad that she and Glenn are in love and that she needed him there because she never slept alone in that room before. In the RV Dale tells Andrea that he really loves her. Rick and Allen are cleaning up the barn for the group to eventually use to sleep in instead of the smelly RV. Rick gets upset and would like for his group to be able to stay in Hershel’s house if there is room. Rick goes to ask Hershel if they can move in the house but Hershel gets upset and doesn’t want anyone taking his just passed away kid’s rooms. Hershel tells Rick that when Carl heals then they have to leave. Tyreese and Carol flirt as Julie and Chris see that, and get angry that they are told that they can’t.
Rick must have told Lori what Hershel told him because Lori goes out to Hershel, yelling at him and they exchange words almost leading to a fight, so much so that Hershel raises his backhand. Rick gets between Lori and Hershel. Hershel says that he doesn’t owe them shit. Rick says to Hershel that they never said that he did owe them anything and he thought he was letting them stay there, not being a temporary thing. Hershel says that he has to look out for his own family. Lori, in tears, says to Hershel, you can’t send them back out there, you’re sentencing them to death. Rick turns to Lori and says it’s going to be ok. Hershel puts a gun to Rick’s head and says he wants them out of there right now. Otis jumps in and raises Hershel’s arm so the gun isn’t pointed at Rick. Carl looks on, holding his gun. Rick says fine, they’re leaving.
Glenn tells Rick that he’s in love with Maggie and he’s staying there with her. Glenn says that before, he didn’t care if he lived or died but he doesn’t feel that way anymore with Maggie. The group gets in the RV and drives off. The RV runs out of gas so the group goes looking for any supplies they can find on foot. Dale and Andrea walk up a cliff and spot something. They go back to the RV, beep the horn and bring the group up the cliff to see what they found. A prison is down below with some zombies scattered outside of the prison and inside the fenced in area. Rick thinks they can make it work. He says, “It’s perfect. We’re home.”
