The Walking Dead season 5 episode 5 “Self Help” focused solely on Abraham and his small group. During the episode, Eugene goes from pervert to savior to liar to knocked out. The major points from this episode are:
- Throughout the episode flashbacks are shown in parts with Abraham and his family (wife, daughter and son) and what basically happened was Abraham was out looking for supplies and returned to find his wife and daughter raped by friends that he and his family were staying with at a supermarket. Abraham kills the friends, but his family is then terrified of him. The next morning, Abraham’s family is gone and he goes to try and find them. Not far from the supermarket are the bodies of his family, killed and torn apart by walkers. Abraham is about to kill himself when Eugene is heard yelling for help. Abraham saves him and the “mission” begins.
- Tara catches Eugene watching Abraham and Rosita having sex. Eugene confesses to Tara that he sabotaged the bus they were using.
- The fire truck breaks down, the group notices a large herd of walkers further down the road but it’s not passable with the herd there. Abraham wants to go through the herd but Glenn suggests to find a detour around the herd. A semi-fight breaks out with Eugene in the middle and Eugene comes clean, telling everyone that he isn’t a scientist and he can’t save the world. Abraham punches Eugene out.

Season 5 episode 6 is named “Consumed” and the description of the episode is: “Cautiously, members of our group must venture into a familiar location on a heroic rescue mission. It’s a huge stage, but so are the stakes.”
