Morgan is not returning in season 4; it doesn’t sound good for baby Judith and new season 4 pictures

Entertainment Weekly has released a few new pictures of season 4 and they also talked with Scott Gimple and Robert Kirkman recently, with Gimple giving some juicy information and Kirkman as usual not saying much at all.

Scott Gimple was asked about baby Judith and he makes it sound like baby Judith is dead and they won’t be showing that of course because that’s something that really shouldn’t be shown on TV. After reading Gimple’s quotes below, let us know what you think.

EW: Obviously fans have a lot of questions going forward. This first one is, where is baby Judith? Dead? Alive? What?

GIMPLE: I’m going to start with the not awesome thing: Judith was a baby in a place with free-roaming walkers, so the math isn’t very good there. On top of that, there’s things we wouldn’t show on television…so there’s that. But the awesome thing is that the answers to a lot of these questions come sooner rather than later. These answers will come quite quickly.

EW: Is the storyline with Lilly or Tara or anyone from the Governor’s camp finished? Could we see any of those people again?

GIMPLE: When anybody doesn’t die onscreen, I assume it’s possible that we will see them again. Judith is a different thing — her fate most likely cannot be shown on television.

It also sounds like the new character Gareth will be new and not from the comic books. Many thought that Gareth would be a character from the hunters group or from the Alexandria Safe Zone in the comic book.

EW: What about this other new character named Gareth I’ve heard whispers about?

GIMPLE: I can say very little. Kind of from the books, kind of not totally from the books. Comic fans would not know him. He was an invention that was inspired for the show.

Before season 4 started, Scott Gimple did say on Twitter that Morgan would be coming back, but apparently he was misquoted and that is not the case as Morgan will not be returning in season 4, but possibly at a later time after season 4.

EW: Of course, whenever we talk I always have to ask you about Morgan, played by Lennie James. Any chance we’ll get to see him again before season 4 ends?

GIMPLE: He will not be definitely in season four. Somebody misquoted me on that. Will he be on the show again? Yes. I am absolutely certain of that.

Robert Kirkman was also asked about Morgan and it sounds like Kirkman would feel fine if he is never brought back as the episode “Clear” would be a good ending for Morgan.

EW: … What about seeing Morgan again?

KIRKMAN: All I’ll say is, it’s entirely possible. I feel like the “Clear” episode that Morgan last appeared it would be a worthy end of the story the way he represented Rick’s future and put him back on the path that he was on and it really played up and played off that relationship they built in the very first episode. And that would have been — would be — a fine ending for that character story. But we all love Lennie James and we all want to see Morgan again so it may happen at some point, it may not. We all want to see Morgan again as much as the fans do. You never know.

EW also released new pictures of season 4, which you can view here. Here’s possibly the best one, showing Glenn on some type of platform with walkers below him. Where is Glenn at and what happened to his head with the blood?
